... and work for it!
After a few meetings and conversations with different colleagues and friends who are following the same footsteps - I won't say they follow my own, because this path has been started long before I even dreamed about it - I now have 6 visits scheduled, for the next 3 months alone!
Next friday I will finally get to see live and in person the school that started it all in Portugal: Escola da Ponte.
Here's a little preview of what we might expect to find.

And this is the man that started the movement, back in the 1970's. He is currently living in Brazil, where he is developing some amazing projects that I will most definitely visit one of these days.
For now, I am attending a course where he is one of the speakers, as well as the main inspiration for the sub-movements that should eventually arise after the course is finished.
The second school I will be visiting, by the end of February, is in Carcavelos, Portugal. It was also on the national news, due to the big changes their headmaster put in place: less tests, more daily assessments, no homework, no ringing to get the kids back to their classrooms and, more importantly, cellphones and tablets are actually welcome in class!

And in March I will be visiting four schools in Barcelona, one of which will be Los Jesuitas! I mentioned this school in this post, where Pepe Menéndez one of the headmasters of the school, talks about the systems they have put in place at school, to make the students feel like home.
The visits will be a part of the II International Symposium in Education, which will happen between the 26th and the 31st of March.
I am so incredibly happy to be able to have these experiences and to have found a group of peers that share my views and dreams about the school of the future!
